Siascopy - tissue examination without surgery

A new device, “Siascope”, developed in England, measures the reflection of variously coloured light beams even into the deep skin layers. A high-performance computer uses this data to calculate three-dimensional coloured pictures of tissues with blood vessels, collagen and much more. For example, it is possible to depict the cell groups underneath the moles, located on the scalp skin.

This way, clues, that provide information about benign and malignant changes of the scalp skin as well as about their extension, can be gained. A number of surgeries with their health risks or visibly unattractive consequences, for example, biopsy in suspicious cases, can therefore be avoided.

New examination substitutes surgery

The received information is extremely reliable: the scientific studies carried out by the specialised clinic Hornheide, our partner for supervising cancer patients, have proved that the closeness of agreement with the histological result of a biopsy is about 95%.

One of the first practices with “Siascope” in the world

We are one of the first centres in the world to offer this technology. It makes the day-to-day diagnostics of the patients easier and therefore we use it not predominantly for scientific purposes as it used to be so far.
